The Hologic Insight C-Arm Mounting Plate — Left (ASY-04724) is the OEM left-side plate of the mounting assembly that secures the C-arm to the flex arm on the Hologic Insight mini C-arm. This plate is part of the two-piece clamping assembly that holds the C-arm at the desired height and angle.
The most common reason this plate needs to be replaced is locking knob failure. When the locking knob is overtightened or stressed, the knob itself can shear off — leaving the bolt or screw stub seized inside the threaded hole of the mounting plate. Once the screw is stripped or stuck in that hole, the plate can no longer be properly secured and must be replaced. Note: this part does not include the locking knob (FAB-04128). Why do most people need to replace this mounting plate?+
The most common cause is locking knob failure. When the locking knob (FAB-04128) is overtightened or worn, it can shear off and leave the bolt stub seized inside the threaded hole of the mounting plate. Once the screw is stripped or stuck in the threaded hole on the plate (the center hole shown in the product image), the assembly can no longer be properly secured and the plate must be replaced. Attempting to drill out a seized screw typically damages the plate further, making replacement the only viable fix.
