How to Use the Orthoscan FD Pulse | Mini C-Arm Tutorials

Hey guys, I'm Christopher Bacon, founder of Orthoscan and President of Minicarm.com. Today we're going to take a look at the Orthoscan FD Pulse.

To turn it on, just press the green power button over here.

While it boots up, we'll show you a little bit of the articulation of the C-arm.

This has an over-rotation mechanism here. And here's your wig-wag.

All right, now we're going to show you how to do some imaging. We'll use our handy dandy hand phantom here.

Hold the foot pedal down for approximately two or three seconds before you get a nice image. Also wait approximately a second after you let go before starting another one. This allows the system to process the image properly, and then once you see the image come over here, you're good to go.

Here are the two pad controls for the Orthoscan FD Pulse. The orange button is for X-ray. As mentioned, hold it down for two or three seconds to get a nice, clear image.

Here you have your rotation buttons, clockwise and counterclockwise. You can tag either one of the tagged areas. You can change your technique up and down, and put it back on auto.

Here's your cine loop, and save and print.

And here is your sterile-field lighting, along with your laser.

Here are your keyboard functions for the Orthoscan FD Pulse. You can rotate your image clockwise or counterclockwise. You can change your technique up and down manually.

Here's your recall button, your patient information, save, print, cine loop, case review, and save all function. This controls your edge setting. Your still/motion setting is your noise reduction. You can negate, flip, and zoom your image.

Here are your touchscreen settings for the Orthoscan FD Pulse. You have your Boost button up here, which allows you to go to 78 kVp and 0.160 mA, up from the standard 75 kVp and 100 microamps. You can also manually adjust your technique using these buttons, and go back into auto mode.

Here's your save button, print, and cine loop. Your negate button and right and left tags. Your edge settings: high, off, and low.

Here's your continuous mode and your pulsed mode, which gives you selectable pulse rates. Here's your noise reduction, and your brightness and contrast.

You can change your patient information by pressing on the keyboard, or directly on the touchscreen. Fields include: last name, first name, middle name, patient ID, physician, session number, procedure type, comments, user, and birth date.

Here's your recall screen. You can access it through the keyboard or the touchscreen. Double-tap on a case to open it.

From here, you can select all or unselect all, or choose individual cases. You can send to DICOM, save to your hard drive, remove from save, or print.

To exit, press Escape once to get back to the patient recall screen, and one more time to get back to the home screen.

When you finish using the machine, simply press the green button, wait for the fans to shut off, and then unplug it. The reason you want to unplug it is in case of any electrical disturbances when the machine is off, to protect the machine. The reason you let the fans shut down first is so that Windows can shut down properly.
