What Is the Orthoscan HD Assembly Rubber II Retention (905-0117)?
Product: Orthoscan HD Assembly Rubber II Retention
Part Number: 905-0117
The Orthoscan HD Assembly Rubber II Retention (905-0117) is the rubber retention assembly that secures and cushions the image intensifier to the chassis of the Orthoscan HD mini C-arm. The retention rubber holds the II tube assembly in its correct position inside the C-arm head, absorbing vibration and preventing the image intensifier from shifting or moving during C-arm positioning and clinical use. A worn, cracked, or degraded retention rubber assembly can allow the image intensifier to shift, which can result in damage, misalignment of the II with the X-ray beam, and mechanical noise during C-arm movement. Replacement is indicated when the rubber shows visible cracking, deterioration, or compression set, when the image intensifier is loose or rattles against the chassis. Compatible with the Orthoscan HD only. Call (800) 643-2998 with your serial number to confirm fit before ordering.
Compatible Systems
Part 905-0117 is specific to the Orthoscan HD only. The Orthoscan UC, FD, FD-OR, FD Pulse, and MDI use different C-arm head configurations. The FD, FD-OR, FD Pulse, and MDI use flat panel detectors and do not use an image intensifier retention assembly. Call (800) 643-2998 with your serial number to confirm fit before ordering.

What does the II retention rubber do and why does it matter?+
The II retention rubber holds the image intensifier tube securely in its correct position against the chassis. It absorbs vibration during C-arm movement and prevents the II from shifting relative to the X-ray beam and camera. If the retention rubber degrades and allows the II to move, the result can be geometric image distortion, misalignment between the X-ray field and the II input, reduced image quality, and mechanical noise or looseness during C-arm positioning.
What are the signs that the II retention rubber needs replacement?+
Common signs include the image intensifier feeling loose or rattling against the chassis, visible cracking or deterioration of the rubber material, geometric distortion or vignetting in the image that cannot be attributed to II tube degradation, mechanical noise from the C-arm head during positioning, and image quality that varies depending on C-arm orientation. Retention rubber replacement is a routine item during full C-arm head refurbishment.
