What Is the Orthoscan UC Flex Arm Assembly (905-0005)?

Product: Orthoscan UC Flex Arm Assembly

Part Number: 905-0005

The Orthoscan UC Flex Arm Assembly (905-0005) is the articulating C-Arm support arm on the Orthoscan UC mini C-arm. The flex arm allows the operator to position the C-Arm at the desired height, angle, and orientation during clinical use, then hold it securely in that position through a friction-based joint mechanism. This enables the clinician to view the live fluoroscopic image from a comfortable ergonomic position without the C-Arm drifting or drooping during a procedure. Over time and with repeated use, the friction joints within the flex arm wear and lose their ability to hold the C-Arm in position — the most common symptom being a C-Arm that slowly droops or falls away from the set position during imaging. Replacement of the complete flex arm assembly restores full C-Arm positioning capability. This is a major mechanical assembly swap and should be performed by a qualified service engineer to ensure correct installation and secure C-Arm mounting. Compatible with the Orthoscan UC only. Frequently Asked Questions

What are the signs that the flex arm assembly on my Orthoscan UC needs replacement?+
The most common sign is a C-Arm that slowly droops or falls away from the set position during imaging — indicating that the friction joints within the flex arm have worn and can no longer hold the C-Arms weight. Other signs include excessive stiffness that makes repositioning difficult, a flex arm that no longer moves smoothly through its range of motion, visible physical damage to the arm joints or housing, and a C-Arm that cannot be held at any stable angle.
Can the flex arm joints be tightened rather than replacing the whole assembly?+
On these flex arm designs, adjustment of the friction joint is not possible. When the friction surfaces wear to the point that holding force is compromised, the assembly cannot be restored through tightening or internal adjustment. In these cases, replacement of the complete assembly is required.
Can Minicarm.com install this part for me?+
Yes. Our certified field service engineers are available nationwide for on-site installation and repair. Call (800) 643-2998 or visit minicarm.com/service to schedule.
What does sold on exchange mean?+
Exchange means you return your defective core unit when you receive the replacement. This helps keep refurbished parts available and costs reasonable. Our team will provide return instructions with your order.
How quickly can I get this part shipped?+
Same-day shipping is available on in-stock parts when ordered before 5PM EST. Call (800) 643-2998 to confirm availability and arrange shipping.
